Overview
Phailbot is a lightweight service that posts links to your public TikTok content in Discord so viewers open and engage on TikTok. Phailbot is an independent tool and is not affiliated with TikTok or Discord.
Information We Collect
When a TikTok creator authorizes Phailbot, TikTok provides us with the following data:
- A unique TikTok user ID (
open_id) - An access token (used to retrieve public video data)
- A refresh token (used to maintain access)
This information is stored securely and used solely to access and monitor the creator's public TikTok video list. We may also process minimal operational metadata (e.g., timestamps of last checks and identifiers for public videos) strictly to detect new posts and ensure delivery reliability. We do not collect any private TikTok content or user account details, and we do not associate this data with Discord user identities.
How We Use This Information
Stored tokens allow Phailbot to periodically check for newly posted public videos. If a new video is detected, a link to the video is posted in the associated Discord server channel. We do not analyze, share, or monetize this data.
Data Retention
Access and refresh tokens are stored for as long as the integration is active. Tokens are deleted if revoked by the creator via TikTok or if the creator requests removal of their integration.
Operational metadata used for reliability and debugging (e.g., timestamps/identifiers for public posts) is retained for no longer than one (1) week.
Your Choices
You may revoke Phailbot's access to your TikTok account at any time via TikTok's app permissions interface. If you wish to remove specific Discord posts or discontinue your integration, please use our contact form. Removal of Discord announcements is governed by our Terms of Service.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your information with third parties. We do not use analytics or third-party tracking services. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we process. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Phailbot is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" above and post the updated version at this URL.
